Citrix MetaFrame and ICA Clients Prevent Upgrade to Windows XP Professional (307144)

When you attempt to upgrade to Windows XP Professional on a computer that has Citrix MetaFrame for Windows and Citrix Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) Clients for Windows installed, you may receive the following error message even though Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Terminal Server Edition, was never installed on the computer:
Windows XP Setup does not support upgrading from Microsoft Windows NT, Terminal Server Edition to Microsoft Windows XP Professional. Setup cannot Continue.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if Citrix ICA Client or MetaFrame software is installed. This software is used to manage and connect to servers that are running Citrix WinFrame or Citrix MetaFrame.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, remove the MetaFrame and Citrix client software, and then upgrade to Windows XP. After the upgrade is complete, reinstall the Citrix client.
