Sound No Longer Plays After You Unlock a Computer That Has ATI ALL IN WONDER Video Adapter (307100)

After you unlock a Windows XP-based computer that is running a video capture program and that has an ATI Technologies ALL IN WONDER video adapter installed, you may no longer hear the sound that was playing before you unlocked the computer.
This issue can also occur with other ATI video adapters that have a video capture feature.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, contact ATI Technologies Inc. to ask about an updated driver that is fully compliant with the Direct Draw (DDraw) features of Windows XP.
To work around this issue, quit and then restart the video capture program.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
