SYMPTOMS

When you receive a meeting request from Microsoft Outlook in Outlook Express, the message contains a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) with the subject of the meeting. If you click this message to attempt to open the calendar item in Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA), you may receive one of the following error messages:
Request not found

-or-

Page cannot be displayed

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the subject contains special characters (such as punctuation marks) or extended ASCII characters (for example, ?<>[]{}&).

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, either make sure that meeting organizers do not include special characters in meeting subjects, or cut the URL from the message and paste the URL into your browser to open the meeting notice successfully.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
