  • Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001

This article was previously published under Q306857

SYMPTOMS

In SharePoint Portal Server 2001, when you search for .pdf files that are posted in public folders on a Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 computer, you may not be able to locate those .pdf files. If you either post a .pdf file or send a message with a .pdf file attachment to a public folder on an Exchange Server 5.5 computer, when you search for that .pdf file by name or content, you may not be able to locate the .pdf file. However, you can search for and locate .pdf files on a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server computer, an NTFS share, and the Microsoft Web Storage System (WSS). You can also search for and locate other document types in public folders on the Exchange Server 5.5 computer.
