Stack Overflow Occurs in SiteAuth (306789)

SYMPTOMS

When you use AuthFilter for Commerce Server 2000, you may receive a Dr. Watson error from Inetinfo.exe, and the IIS Admin Service stops. The Dr. Watson error log contains the following information:
Application exception occurred:
App: inetinfo.exe (pid=3624)

Exception number: c00000fd (stack overflow)

CAUSE

Under a high system load with many concurrent users, AuthFilter can enter a recursive loop that will finally cause a stack overflow.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Commerce Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 2.
