Remote Desktop Web Connection is Signed as RC2 (306753)

SYMPTOMS

When you connect by using the Remote Desktop Web Connection for the first time, you may be prompted to install the Microsoft Terminal Services Control (RC2) ActiveX control.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the ActiveX control is incorrectly marked as RC2.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, click Yes when you are prompted to install the ActiveX control. No further action is necessary. The version of ActiveX that is available in Windows XP is the correct and released version, but it is incorrectly signed as RC2.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
