The Video Acceleration slider in Windows Media Player performance settings and the Hardware Acceleration slider in Display
Properties are not synchronized. Because of this, you may have two different acceleration settings.
CAUSE
The Video Acceleration slider and the advanced performance
options in Windows Media Player are designed to only affect Windows Media Player. The Windows Media Player performance settings affect playback through DirectShow, but the settings in Display Properties affect all areas of Windows through the display driver.
STATUS
This is behavior is by design.
