Cannot Delete TCP/IP Printer Port with Port Name That Is Longer Than 48 Characters (306340)

When you try to delete a standard TCP/IP printer port, you may receive the
following error message:
The specified port is unknown.
You receive this error message if the TCP/IP printer port name is longer than 48 characters. Windows 2000 permits you to create TCP/IP printer ports with names that are longer than 48 characters.
CAUSE
The monitor does not handle long port names correctly.

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, you can delete the TCP/IP printer port in the registry.
