SUMMARY

This article describes the Readlog.exe utility's command line options.

MORE INFORMATION

Platform Builder version 3.0 includes the diagnostic tool Kernel Tracker. If the Kernel Tracker data is saved, a .clg file is created in a proprietary format. The Readlog utility converts this file into a text file that can be easily read.

Although this information is not included in the Platform Builder documentation, the Readlog utility has three command line options. To view these options, type readlog -? or readlog -h. The options are as follows:

-v Print verbose output.
-s Print summary of logged events.
-d Print times as deltas instead of absolutes.

An important benefit of the -v command is that it causes thread migration calls to display the process name in the log, which allows the association of logged function calls to the calling process. This can be useful in tracking down memory leaks.

The Readlog tool can be found in the \WinCE300\Public\Common\Oak\Bin\I386 folder.
