This article was previously published under Q306019 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft FrontPage, the commands on the Drawing toolbar are unavailable and appear dimmed.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when the Vector Markup Language (VML) graphics option is turned off.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, turn on the VML graphics option. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start FrontPage.
- On the Tools menu, click Page Options, and then click the Compatibility tab.
- Under Available Technologies, click to select the VML graphics check box, and then click OK.
When you click to select the VML graphics check box, you add support for VML to your Web page. If you want to create Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) files that are used by Web browsers that do not support VML, click to select the Downlevel image file check box that is displayed below the VML graphics check box. Note that Web browsers older than Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 do not support VML.
