FP2002: Thumbnail Is Blank Except for Red "X" (306017)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a thumbnail in Microsoft FrontPage, the thumbnail image may not be displayed as expected. For example, when you right-click a picture on your page, click Auto Thumbnail, save your page, and then preview it in a browser, the thumbnail is blank except for a red "X." If you click the blank thumbnail, the original full-sized picture is displayed.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true:
  • The Webs Unlimited add-in product J-Bots 2002 is installed on your computer.

    -and-
  • The Jbotsadd.dll file is outdated.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use any of the following methods, as appropriate to your situation.

Method 1

Re-download and reinstall J-Bots 2002 (with the updated Jbotsadd.dll file), and then create new thumbnails. J-Bots 2002 is available for download from the following Webs Unlimited Web site: For more information, browse to the following Webs Unlimited Web site:

Contact Webs Unlimited to obtain an updated Jbotsadd.dll file, and then replace the existing Jbotsadd.dll file in the Program Files\Webs Unlimited\J-Bots 2002 folder (or the folder in which you installed J-Bots 2002) on the your hard disk. Method 3

Remove J-Bots 2002 from your computer's hard disk, and then create new thumbnails. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

  3. In the Add/Remove Programs dialog box, click J-Bots 2002 in the Currently installed programs list, and then click Change/Remove.
  4. Click Yes in response to the Are you sure you want to remove the selected application and all of its components? message.
