Incorrect Windows Logo Display in 3D Flying Objects Screensaver with Savage4 Video Adapter in Use (305941)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the 3D Flying Object screensaver with the Windows logo on a computer that is equipped with an S3 Graphics Savage4 video adapter, the Windows logo may not be displayed correctly.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the S3 Graphics Savage4 video device driver that comes with Windows XP is not working properly.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, contact S3 Graphics, Inc. to ask about availability of an updated driver.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, turn off hardware acceleration on the Savage4 video adapter:
  1. Right-click the desktop, and then click Properties.
  2. On the Settings tab, click Advanced.
  3. On the Troubleshoot tab, move the Hardware Acceleration slider to None.
  4. Click OK.
