PRB: User Account Changes for COM+ Service in Services Control Panel Tool Are Not Synchronized in Component Services (305777)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft COM+ 1.5

This article was previously published under Q305777

SYMPTOMS

If you set the identity of an application in the Services Control Panel tool, the Component Services snap-in may display a different identity. If you configure a COM+ application to run as an NT service, the identity of that COM+ application can be configured in two different places.

CAUSE

The Component Services snap-in is not notified of identity changes that are made in the Control Panel Services tool. Therefore, the Component Services snap-in does not automatically refresh to display the new configuration settings.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, refresh the COM+ Applications node in the Component Services snap-in.
