This article was previously published under Q305637 SYMPTOMS
When a user (User A) creates a message in Microsoft Outlook 2000 with a bulleted list and sends this message to a Microsoft Outlook 2002 user (User B) who replies to the message, the bullets may change format. User A receives a message with a numbered list. If User B opens the message in the Sent Items folder, User B sees that the bulleted list has changed to a numbered list.
This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
- User A is an Outlook 2000 user. User A selects the Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages check box. Microsoft Rich Text is the default format. User A sends a message that contains a bulleted list.
- User B is an Outlook 2002 user. User B selects the Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages check box. User B does not select the Use Microsoft Word to read Rich Text e-mail messages check box. User B receives the message from User A.
- User B opens the message, and then replies. User B opens the message in the Sent Items folder and observes that the bullets are now numbers.
