How to Use the Online Registration Feature in Windows Me, Windows 98, and Windows 95 (305459)

To use the online product registration for Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, or Windows Me:

1. On the Welcome screen, click Next. Note that if you previously chose to register later, start the Online Registration Wizard by clicking Start, clicking Run, typing regwiz /r, and then clicking OK.
2. On the Registration Description screen, click Next.
3. On the Product Owner screen, click the appropriate option, provide the appropriate information, and then click Next.
4. Provide the address and phone number information, and then click Next.
5. Provide the place of purchase information, and then choose whether or not you would like to receive product offers from Microsoft or third-party software vendors.
6. On the System Inventory screen, choose whether or not you want to send system inventory information to Microsoft, and then click Register.

If online registration did not work, you may receive one of the following error messages that are based on your Internet connection type: To resolve the connection issue if you receive one of the preceding error messages or one that is similar to these error messages, please check your modem, cable, DSL or appropriate Internet connection configuration.
