Some Terminal Server Processing Rules Are Missing After Upgrade to MOM (305457)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Operations Manager 2000

This article was previously published under Q305457

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade from Operations Manager 3.22 Service Pack 1 to Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 (MOM), some rules may be missing from the Processing Rule Group for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition (TSE). For example, the NTDLL rule group may lack some event rules that were present before the upgrade.

However, a fresh install of MOM includes these event rules.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, import the Terminal Server Management Pack (.akm) into MOM again and enable the option to replace existing rule groups with the rule groups that are in the imported Management Pack.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

To locate the NTDLL rule group, go to the Rules node, click Processing Rule Groups, click Microsoft Windows Terminal Server, click WTS NT 4.0, and then click WTS NT 4.0 - NTDLL.
