Importing Management Pack Causes MOM to Use All Available Memory and May Produce an Access Violation (305453)

SYMPTOMS

When you import a management pack into Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 (MOM), MOM may use all available memory and stop responding. In some situations, the import may also cause an access violation.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the management pack that you are importing has a rule whose response has references to more than one script.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, do not configure rules to have a response that has references to more than one script.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
