Visio: Cannot Ungroup or Modify an Object in Visio (305343)

When you attempt to modify or ungroup an object on a Microsoft Visio page, nothing happens.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because some Visio shapes are protected at the Shape Sheet level and cannot be modified past a certain point unless the are unlocked from the Shape Sheet.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, change the value in the Shape Sheet to 0 (zero), or unlocked. To do this, follow these steps. CAUTION: After you complete these steps, you will no longer be able to use Custom Properties and some functionality may be lost. - Click the object that you want to modify.
- On the Window menu, click Show Shape Sheet (the Shape Sheet looks similar to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet).
- Under Protection, click the LockGroup cell, change the value to 0, and then close the Shape Sheet.NOTE: The object is now available for modification; if you want to ungroup the object, continue with step 4.
- On the Shape menu, click Grouping, and then click Ungroup.
- When the confirmation message appears, click OK.
- On the Format menu, click Protection, click None, and then click OK.
