OL2002: Outlook Displays a New Contact Name Incorrectly (305316)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q305316 SYMPTOMS
When you click the Address Book button, right-click a name, and then click Add to Personal Address Book in a new contact, the contact's name is displayed as "Last, Last" (without quotation marks) instead of "Last, First" (without quotation marks) in the Full Name box. But, when you click Save and Close, the contact's name is displayed correctly as "Last First" in your Contact folder.
When you try to add a new contact with the same last name as a contact that you already have, you receive a prompt that asks you if you want to Add anyway or Update with the new information. If you click Add anyway, Outlook creates two entries with the correct contact information. If you click Update, the contact information from both contacts are merged into one contact.
