ENC: Content Not Displayed Correctly or Error Message: The Page Cannot Be Displayed (305283)

SYMPTOMS

When you start any of the Encarta programs that are listed at the beginning of this article, and then click various features, content may not be displayed correctly or you receive an error message. You may receive an error message that is similar to one of the following:
Encarta did not find the page or keyword you searched for. To continue searching, try one of the following actions:
  • Click Back or Forward arrows on the menu bar.
  • Enter a new keyword in the Find box, then click Go.
  • Choose a new option from either the menu or toolbar.
  • Open a new feature home screen.
  • A blank white page

Runtime Error!

Abnormal program termination

Note If this message is displayed in certain places, places with the product, or with specific articles or media (other than Web pages), this indicates an issue reading the product disc. Cleaning the disc will often resolve this issue.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you have installed Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 Public Preview at any time in the past.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, update to the final release of Internet Explorer version 6.0. For more information about how to do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

Please note that restoring Windows back to the previous configuring (uninstalling Internet Explorer 6 Preview) will not solve this issue.
