Money: Bill Amounts in Saved Budgets Are Doubled After Upgrade (305242)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Money 2002
- Microsoft Money 2001
This article was previously published under Q305242 SYMPTOMS
After you upgrade from Microsoft Money 2000 to Microsoft Money 2001 or later, you may notice that budgets previously saved in Money 2000 are no longer accurate and that the values of bill amounts have doubled.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you restore a budget that was originally saved in Money 2000. Bill amounts were not saved with the budget in Money 2000, because you did not have the ability to save and load multiple budgets. With Money 2001 and later, you can save and load multiple budgets. However, the information provided by the Money 2000 budget is not sufficient for Money 2001 and later to build your budget properly. Because of this, some values are doubled.
RESOLUTION
To avoid this problem, do not load any budgets that were previously saved in Money 2000. Re-create those budgets rather than loading the saved budgets.
