The Oeminst Batch Process Generates the 2711 Error (305185)

SYMPTOMS

When you run Oeminst.bat to install Windows Services for UNIX 2.2 components, you may receive the following error message:
Error 2711. The specified Feature name (ServiceName) not found in Feature Table

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when you place a space between the SFUComponents values.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, do not use spaces between component values.

The Services for UNIX original equipment manufacturer (OEM) kit provides the Oeminst.bat utility to install the product on OEM computers. The following text displays the Oeminst.bat syntax:

oeminst SourceDir CDCopyDir SFUInstallDir SFUComponents installMKSDemo

The SFUComponents value should be a list of components that are being installed, separated by commas. The entire string should be enclosed in double quotes. For example:

"NFSClient,TelnetClient,TelnetServer,UnixUtilities"

Windows Services for UNIX 2.2 OEM only version of Services for UNIX is only available through an OEM. Windows Services for UNIX 2.2 is designed to be installed only on Windows Powered computer.
