SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade from Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) to Windows XP, your Abit Hot Rod DMA 366 IDE Expansion adapter may not work, and because of this, you may be unable to obtain access to any drives that are connected to this adapter. In Device Manager, a question mark may appear next to your Abit Hot Rod DMA 366 IDE Expansion adapter which may be labeled as a "Mass Storage Device."

CAUSE

This problem can occur because Windows XP does have a driver for the High Point Technologies 366 DMA controller.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem after you upgrade to Windows XP, download and install the Windows XP drivers from the the following Abit Web site: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. This contact information may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this third-party contact information.

If you cannot obtain Windows XP drivers, you can use the Microsoft Windows 2000 drivers.
