Workstation Error 3113 Is Logged in the System Log During Mini-Setup (304981)

SYMPTOMS

When Sysprep.exe is used after an unattended installation of the German or French version of Windows 2000, the following error message is logged in the System log:
Workstation Error None 3113 Computer Name
Initialization failed because the requested service redirector could not be started.

RESOLUTION

This problem was corrected in the German and French versions of Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Windows 2000.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
