SYMPTOMS

If the Print Spooler service is not running, the Hostmib.dll file may experience an error during its initialization and then unload. If Hostmib.dll is not loaded, some OIDs will not be available. For example, with Hostmib.dll loaded, the "snmputil getnext myIpAddr public .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.2.0" SNMP query should return:

Variable = host.hrStorage.hrStorageTable.hrStorageEntry.hrStorageIndex.1
Value = Integer32 1

However, if Hostmib.dll unloads, the query returns the next OID it can resolve, and this most likely will be:

Variable = iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.lanmanager.lanmgr-2.common.comVersionMaj.0
Value = String 5
