SYMPTOMS

When you receive a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) message from a Microsoft Outlook Express for Macintosh user (version 4.x or 5.x), extra blank items may appear in the numbered or bulleted list.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, send the message as a plain text message, and create the list in another program, such as Microsoft Word, and send the list as an attachment.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
