Replication Does Not Complete and You Cannot Access Directory Objects (304922)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
This article was previously published under Q304922 SYMPTOMS Replication of directory information between domain
controllers does not complete and you receive a replication error message. You
also cannot access or delete the object by using a tool such as ADSI
Editor.CAUSEThis problem may occur if objects with the same security IDs
(SIDs) exist in the directory database and one of the duplicate objects that
uses the same SID is deleted. When two objects use the same SID and one of the
objects is deleted by a user, the Security Account Manager (SAM) processes the
delete request. If the delete request is not processed correctly, you cannot
access a directory object if a deleted object with the same SID exists.
