FIX: First Message Stuck in Queue After Registering an SMTP Service Event (304885)

After you register or unregister an SMTP Service Event Sink, the first message sent after the change remains in the Messages waiting to be routed queue. Subsequent messages are delivered successfully.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, install Exchange 2000 Service Pack 1.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, right-click the Messages waiting to be routed queue and click Force Connection.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was corrected in Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1.
