MORE INFORMATION

The instructions to Improve Query Performance located in the Optimizing Performance of Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001 sample white paper (dated June 2001) and the Release Notes (Readme.htm) should include the following important note. Note that the version of the white paper dated June 2001 is a pre-release copy of the final white paper, which is included in the SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Resource Kit. The final version contains the following updated information:

IMPORTANT: It is recommended that you do not set the CacheSizeMin to a value more than fifty percent of the available memory. If the CacheSizeMin value is set too high, it causes all queries to the server to fail with the error message "Internal Server Error." In addition, the Subscriptions Summary Web Part displays the following message to all users: "Failed to get subscriptions results." If you encounter either of these errors, set the CacheSizeMin parameter to a lower value and restart the Microsoft Search service.
