OL2002: Outlook Does Not Support the UPN Logon Method to a Windows 2000 Domain (304573)

SYMPTOMS

You cannot log on to Outlook 2002 with the user principal name (UPN) logon method in a Microsoft Windows 2000 domain. The only format supported is User/Domain format.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 1.

MORE INFORMATION

The fix detects the at sign (@) in the Name field and disables the domain field when the at sign is found.
