PRB: Validation Error on Document with b:subdocument_break Attribute (304546)

When you are processing a data instance on a computer that does not have BizTalk Server 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed, the following error may occur in the BizTalk Server Application event log:

Description:
An error occurred in BizTalk Server.
Details:

The "b:subdocument_break" attribute is not allowed
in the "Schema" element. Line: 4, Pos: 364.

loaded. Possible causes are using a non-envelope
specification, or incorrectly configured tracking details.

CAUSE
The document definition was created on a computer with BizTalk Server 2000 SP1 installed, but the data instance is being processed on computer that does not have BizTalk Server 2000 SP1 installed.

In BizTalk Server 2000 SP1, the BizTalk Editor is modified to allow for some attributes that are specific to new functionality. If you create a file specification on a server with SP1 installed, and then attempt to process it on a server without SP1 installed, it will fail.
