IntelliType Pro 2.1: "Missing Shortcut" Dialog Box Appears When You Attempt to Start Microsoft Keyboard Program (304368)

After you install Microsoft IntelliType Pro version 2.1, one of the following symptoms may occur:
- When you double-click the Microsoft Keyboard desktop shortcut, you may receive a Missing Shortcut dialog box, which states that the Control.exe file cannot be found.
-or-
- When you click Start, click Programs, and then click Microsoft Keyboard, you may receive a Problem with Shortcut dialog box, which gives you the options to Fix It, Delete It, or Cancel.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true: - You have upgraded your system to Microsoft Windows XP.
-and-
- You have run the Repair feature for Microsoft IntelliType Pro version 2.1.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods as appropriate to your circumstances:
- If you receive the first error message, uninstall the IntelliType Pro software, and then reinstall it.
- If you receive the second error message, click Fix It, and then follow the instructions. If selecting Fix It does not help, uninstall and then reinstall the IntelliType Pro software.
