FIX: Merge Snapshot Does Not Recognize FTP for Jet Subscribers (304363)

SYMPTOMS
The FTP snapshot transfer type for a Jet subscriber using merge replication is not honored, and instead a UNC path is used to obtain snapshot files.
CAUSE
The Jet Replication Provider, Msrpjt40.dll, while allowing a snapshot transfer type of FTP, does not recognize this property.
RESOLUTIONA supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next SQL Server service pack that contains this hotfix.
