If you have configured a default document for a directory,
when you locate the directory in the browser (for example, http://localhost/test), you receive the following error message:
The page cannot be displayed
If you type the page name as a URL in the browser address bar, however, you can see the page.
CAUSE
You do not have proper permissions set for the directory.
RESOLUTION- Right-click the directory, and then click Properties.
- Click the Directory tab (if the directory is a regular directory) or the Virtual Directory tab (if the directory is a virtual directory).
- Click to select Read permissions, and then set Execute Permissions to Scripts Only.
- Click OK.
