You cannot type more than four characters in the Initials box when you add a new user (304013)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in to add a new user, you cannot type more than four characters in the Initials box of the user properties. However, after you create the new user, you can type up to six characters in the Initials box. This symptom occurs if all the following conditions are true:

You use the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in on a Windows 2000-based computer to add the new user.
Your Windows 2000-based computer is running Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2) or earlier.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
