OL2000: Message Appears to Remain in Your Outbox When You Reply to a Message in a Team or Group Mailbox (303851)

SYMPTOMS

When you reply to a message in a team or group mailbox, the reply message appears to remain in your Outbox even though the message was sent

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you have the In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message option enabled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

WORKAROUND

Use the following steps to work around this behavior:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the Preferences tab, click E-mail options.
  3. In the E-mail options dialog box, click Advanced E-mail Options.
  4. Under Save Messages, click to clear the In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message check box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP-3).
