SUMMARY

IMPORTANT: This article is for informational purposes only. The Microsoft Network (MSN) Internet access does not provide any technical support for Macintosh-related issues.

On July 16, 2001 the MSN Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) servers will be upgraded to protect against unsolicited commercial e-mail messages, often referred to as "spam." These changes require that you modify your e-mail settings to continue sending e-mail messages by using your MSN account. Make the changes that are described in this article no later than July 16, 2001 to ensure outgoing mail access.

NOTE: If you do not make this change, as MSN deploys its new system, you will lose the ability to send e-mail messages.
