XFOR: Exchange 2000 SP2 Calendar Connector Setup Has Schema-Only Option (303842)

SUMMARY

Exchange 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Service Pack 2 (SP2) installation does not modify the Active Directory schema. The Calendar Connector (which exchanges free and busy information between Exchange 2000 and Novell GroupWise and Lotus Notes) is not installed with any Exchange 2000 service pack. However, if you need to install the Calendar Connector, the Calendar Connector Setup.exe program does modify the Active Directory schema; therefore, Schema Admins permissions as well as Exchange Administrator and local Administrator permissions are required to install the Calendar Connector.

To install the Exchange 2000 SP1 version of the Calendar Connector, an Exchange 2000 administrator must also be a member of the Schema Admins group. This is not acceptable in some organizations. If you do not want the administrator to be a member of the Schema Admins group, you can have a member of the Schema Admins group either perform the installation, or manually extend the schema. The Exchange 2000 SP2 version of the Calendar Connector has two separate installation options:

Full installation including any required schema updates.
Required schema updates only.
