SYMPTOMS

If you suspend or hibernate your computer while you are running Windows Media Player and later resume the computer, the following symptoms may occur:
  • Error messages may appear.
  • The visualization may stop.
  • Sound may be skipped.
  • A "Drive read error" message may be displayed.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, quit Windows Media Player before you suspend or hibernate your computer.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
