OL2000: Service Release 1 (SR-1) Cannot Find Recipients Certificates (303671)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q303671 SYMPTOMS If you click the Keep Personal Address in
option in a PAB (Personal Address Book) file in Outlook 2000 Service Release 1
(SR-1) and you have the search order set to search in the PAB first, Outlook
2000 SR-1 cannot find the recipient digital certificate and the following error
message may occur when you send a digitally encrypted message:
Microsoft Outlook had problems encrypting the message
because the following recipients had missing or invalid certificates, or
conflicting or unsupported encryption capabilities. CAUSE This problem can occur because the search process
erroneously stopped searching after it querried the PAB, instead of continuing
the search in the Contacts folder. RESOLUTIONA
supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to
correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to
computers that are experiencing this specific problem. To resolve this
problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix. For a
complete list of Microsoft Product Support Services phone numbers and
information about support costs, visit the following Microsoft Web site: NOTE: In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for
support calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines
that a specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will
apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the
specific update in question. The English-language
version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:
