SYMPTOMS

In Windows 2000, if you use multiple monitors with a disabled secondary monitor, the secondary monitor may become enabled if you change the screen resolution of the primary monitor, and then you cancel that setting.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, in the Display Properties dialog box, click to clear the Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor check box to disable the secondary monitor. Or, you can right-click the monitor icon in the Display Properties dialog box, click to clear the Attached check box, and then click Apply to save the changes.
