This article was previously published under Q303658 SYMPTOMS Capicom is a function set that is used with Web page
operations for encryption and it is located in the Windows Software Development
Kit (SDK). Under heavy usage, the computer detects damage in the heap, stack,
or in other areas that are difficult to trace. The Dllhost program typically
stops processing data and Web pages that are hosted by the computer may not
respond. This symptom occurs only if Capicom.dll is running on the target
computer. RESOLUTION The English-language version of this fix should have the
following file attributes or later:

Note that the Web site lists this download as version 1.0.0.1,
the new version is referred as 1.0a in the documentation. This
problem is resolved if you download the latest version of Capicom.dll from the
