SYMPTOMS

When you clear the Omit End Tag check box for an HTML tag that allows optional end tags, FrontPage does not save your changes and continues to omit the end tag for the HTML tags that you selected.

To locate the Omit End Tag check box, click Page Options on the Tools menu, and then click the HTML Source tab.

WORKAROUND

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To work around this problem, you can change the behavior of FrontPage 2002 by modifying the Windows registry. To do this, follow these steps:

In the left pane, you will see all the HTML tags.
  4. In the left pane, select the HTML tag you want to change.
  5. In the right pane, double-click Omit End.
  6. In the Value Data box, change the value to 0, and then click OK.
  7. In the right pane, double-click Aggregate.
