SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade your Dell Latitude C600 or C800 portable computer from Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) to Windows XP, the touch pad notification icon may be missing from the taskbar.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, reinstall the touch pad program from the Drivers and Utilities CD-ROM that comes with the portable computer.
