SYMPTOMS

After you specify the Use High Contrast option by using the Accessibility Options tool in Control Panel, when you try to change the visual style for windows and buttons by using the performance options in the System tool, Windows XP may not apply the change.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the Use High Contrast accessibility option overrides other Windows visual settings.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, turn the Use High Contrast option on or off by using the Accessibility Options tool in Control Panel.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
