BUG: Setup and BizTalk Messaging Service Fail When You Connect to a Clustered SQL Server (303453)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000
This article was previously published under Q303453 SYMPTOMS When you attempt to connect BizTalk Server to a clustered
Microsoft SQL Server computer, the BizTalk Server Setup program and the BizTalk
Messaging Service fail, and the following error message occurs:
CIS_E_ADMIN_DBCONNECT - "BizTalk Server failed to access
the "%1" database on the "%2" server with the database connection information.
CAUSE The error message is the result of an Access Denied message
that is returned by the SQL Server OLEDB Provider. The Access Denied error
message occurs because all attempts to connect to the clustered SQL Server
computer are done by using Windows NT Authentication instead of SQL Server
Authentication, which is what the BizTalk Server Setup program is attempting to
use. RESOLUTION Install Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.7 on the
BizTalk Server computer that will connect to a clustered SQL Server computer.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a
problem in BizTalk Server 2000.
