This article was previously published under Q303295 SYMPTOMS
When DCHP Allocator tries to parse a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocl (DHCP) request that includes options that contain packet assembler/disassembler (PAD) bytes, an access violation may occur.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the DHCP packet parser does not process the PAD bytes correctly, which causes the DHCP Allocator to calculate a truncated packet.
