PIP2001: Error Message: Picture Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module Pitasks.dll (303176)

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, rename the Msvcirt.dll file, and then replace it with the Msvcirt.dll file from your Microsoft Picture It! CD-ROM. To do this, follow these steps:

NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

1. Click Start, point to Search, and then click For Files or Folders.
2. In the Search for files or folders named box, type Msvcirt.dll, and then click Search Now.
3. In the Search Results list, right-click Msvcirt.dll, and then click Rename.
4. Type Msvcirt.old, and then press ENTER.
5. Close the Search Results window.
6. Insert disc 1 of the Picture It! CD-ROM package into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. Press and hold down the SHIFT key as you insert the CD-ROM to prevent Setup from starting automatically.
7. Click Start, point to Search, and then click For Files or Folders.
8. In the Search for files or folders named box, type Msvcirt.dll.
9. In the Look in box, click the icon for your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then click Search Now.
   
   The Msvcirt.dll file is located in the following folder

   CD-ROM: \PIP\System32\Redist\MS\System

   where CD-ROM is your computer's CD-ROM drive.
10. Right-click the Msvcirt.dll file, and then click Copy.
11. Click Start, click Explore, and then follow these steps, as appropriate to your operating system.

    Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me)

    1. Browse to the x:\Windows folder, where x is the drive on which Windows is installed.
    2. In the left pane, click the Windows folder.
    3. In the right pane, click the System folder.
    4. On the Edit menu, click Paste.
    5. Close any open windows on the desktop.

    Microsoft Windows NT or Microsoft Windows 2000

    1. Browse to the x:\Winnt folder, where x is the drive on which Windows is installed.
    2. In the left pane, click the Winnt folder.
    3. In the right pane, click the System32 folder.
    4. On the Edit menu, click Paste.
    5. Close any open windows on the desktop.
