SYMPTOMS

If you create a meeting request, add a personal distribution list (PDL) from your Contacts folder as an attendee, and click the plus sign (+) to expand the PDL, the PDL is removed from the meeting request.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you use Outlook 2000 in the Internet Mail Only (IMO) mode, and because the Outlook 2000 contacts are integrated with the Windows Address Book (WAB). Certain versions of the WAB files contain a problem that causes Outlook 2000 to stop responding when you try to expand a PDL in a meeting request.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, enter the members separately in the meeting request instead of using the PDL from your Contacts folder.

NOTE: This problem does not occur in Microsoft Outlook 2002 because Outlook 2002 does not integrate with the WAB.

You can also work around this problem if you upgrade to Outlook 2002.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Windows Address Book 5.00.2919.6600 and later.
