"This Media Is Write Protected" Error Message When You Use Microsoft Backup with CD-RW (303106)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use Microsoft Backup with CD-RW, you may receive an error message similar to the following:

This media is write protected. Remove the write protection or insert another media to continue.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because Microsoft Backup does not support CD-RW.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use another backup medium that is supported by Microsoft, such as a floppy disk, tape drive, or zip disk.
